I’m an ex-big-bank project manager now with his very own shingle. I got tired of the stress of big projects and want to spend more time with my family. Okay and I’m also a World of Warcraft junkie that raids practically every night so I don’t want to be up late stressing out.
Project management has been around a long time but for every one company that’s project management “aware”, there’s thousands of companies who aren’t. My goal on the web is to help people learn about portfolio, program and project planning, and why it’s so important.
It’s taken me 22 years to get to this point in my career. I was a former Vice President for two global banks, and was saddled with oversight, development and implementation of, geez, countless multi-million dollar projects.
After seeing so many projects run into trouble, I developed an approach that married the human side of projects with the hard data needed to manage them. Lets face it, life is short. If you can’t enjoy what you do, life would be unbearable. While they can be tough, projects shouldn’t hurt. With the right combination of effective planning, tools and practices, projects can be fun AND result in a more competitive business. So, after 22 years, I’m finally in a position where I have a rock-solid consulting and mentoring program where I can help folks make it through their projects easily, painlessly, all the while having a good time.
Hang out with me. I’m hoping I can help you achieve your project goals, and also better prepare you for new projects ahead.

I'm Geoff Crane. After 22 years in the trenches of a lot of tough projects, I decided to change direction a little bit and focus on sparking ideas in the vibrant field of project management.
If you're a project manager, or even if you're one voice in the project choir, you are in a position to be truly remarkable. Without exaggerating, you have within you the capacity to change the world, just because of who and where you are!
